My Favorite Baby Products

For those of you just stumbling upon this blog I will tell you a bit about myself as a mom. I am a new mom to Mia, born July 2008, my first and total joy. My husband and I both work full time so are rather busy, though family time always comes first. We are not into the newest and coolest necessairly, but functionality and practicality. I work in a pop culture biz which has taught me that the best products are found though recommendations by those you trust. While you may not know me, I am setting out to help all new parents find the ultimate resrouce for registering for your new baby, or simply upgrading for the kids you have now. If helping people register could support my family, I would do it as a full-time job!

This chair is the best solution to a huge bulky highchair for babies new to eating solids. If your baby can sit up on his/her own you will LOVE this addition to your family dinner table.

Our 6 month old was extremely fussy in her high chair from the time she started eating solids, at 5 months. We soon realized it was because the tray of the high chair was so high she could barely see over it. We remembered we had the hippo chair for traveling and decided to attach it to the dinner table to see how she would do. It was a miracle, she now eats no fuss and it happy and comfortable. The chair attaches so that the baby is at the perfect height at the table and can eat and look aroound freely. This is now a permanent fixture on our dinner table since we use the table for meals, hanging out, and working. Now when I work from home, I can put Mia in the hippo chair with some toys and a snack and she is happy to be "with" mommy but can independently play while I keep a close eye on her.

My only recommendation, for dinners out, is to consider baby and chair an extra person. A lot of places will not allow the chair to attach to the end of a booth for fire hazard reasons, so you will want to request a table for more than just you and your other family members.

Another plus, the chair disassembles so easily and fits into a tote bag so it is easy to transport. Also stores away much easier than a bulky highchair. We still love our Peg Perego Prima Pappa high chair but will stow it away until Mia is a bit bigger.
